October '13 Haul

Saturday, 19 October 2013

Everyone loves a haul (especially when you're the one buying!) so I thought I'd let you all know what I've been spending my pennies on this week. I spent a few hours in town yesterday and went to all my usual hotspots to look for goodies. I wasn't really looking for anything in particular but I knew I wanted some new lipsticks so I'll start there...
MAYBELLINE VINTAGE LEATHER NAIL VARNISH IN RED GRAINED, £2.99 | MAXFACTOR LASTING COLOUR COLLECTIONS LIPSTICK IN ROSEWOOD, £4.99 | REVLON SUPER LUSTROUS LIPSTICK IN BLACK CHERRY, £5.49 | RIMMEL KATE MATTE LIPSTICK IN KISS OF LIFE £5.49
First of all I took a trip to good old Boots where I was on a lipstick hunt. I had loads of money-off vouchers so actually got these lovelies much cheaper than their original prices as I ended up getting double discount on some (yay!). I had a berry lipstick last year but surprise surpise it's disappeared (why does makeup make a habit of this?) so I bought the black cherry shade which is lovely, although a little scary! I also wanted a matte red lipstick and a simple everyday shade, both of which I found. Lastly is the maybelline leather nail varnish which I absoloutely love! (Reviews to follow soon!)
LOUISE GRAY FOR TOPSHOP CREAM EYESHADOW IN WAVE MACHINE, £1 | TOPSHOP NAIL ART PEN IN FOOL'S GOLD, £1
Then I spotted a Topshop sale so had to take a look and found a bucket of sale makeup. I grabbed a white nail pen and some louise gray eyeshadows which I love much more than I thought I would, can't wait to try some experiments with these.
PRIMARK TOP, £3 | PRIMARK DRESS, £15 | PRIMARK DRESS, £15
Next is Primark. I'm so glad this top has gone into the sale as I've been eyeing it up for a while so for £3 it's great. I spotted the blue/green dress a couple of weeks ago but it's the first time I've seen the red version in my local store so I picked up one of each. Now I'm not planning on keeping both (note- my plans never work!) but under the pressure of primark heat/crowds/stress, I just grabbed them both to decide at home so I'd love to know which is your favourite?
RIVER ISLAND SKIRT, £8 | RIVER ISLAND HEAD CHAIN, £2
Next up is River Island. I don't regularly shop here but I was looking for their cut-out boots and got distracted by an unexpected sale. I tried on some lovely dresses but their fit was terrible so I ended up with this skirt to add to my velvet collection and this head chain. Ive been after one of these for agessss and I even tried to make my own (what a state that was!) I love the bohemian feel of this and am going to try my best to incorporate it into a/w wear!
INTERNATIONALE JUMPER, £9.74
If you've been following my blog, you'll know that I've been hunting for a cropped jumper for a while and finally I've found one! Internationale is another store I don't normally shop in (mainly for the shocking one direction song covers they blast at you) but I'm glad I ended up here as they had 25% off knitwear. I picked up this black jumper and I wish they had more colours available really as it's exactly what I've been looking for.
GEORGE ROSE HEART JUMPER, £8 | G21 WHITE PEPLUM SHIRT, £7
It's a well know fact that I love George clothing. It's one of the only places I've found that offers both cheap prices and quality clothes, no complaints here. This jumper I've contemplated buying before so when it went into the sale, I snapped one up as well as this shirt.

What do you think of my picks?

  1. I love the blue/green dress! The red one is nice as well but I think the blue/green one will be easier to wear and easier to match with stuff. Ah I wish they had an online store, I'd buy one of those dresses myself!

Also that dark lippy looks awesome. I am going to man-up this winter and wear really dark lipstick shades & not care if anyone thinks I look gothic...Its my Autumn/Winter resolution!
