WINTER COATS '13

Wednesday, 9 October 2013

I'm in desperate need of a new winter coat. Ok, maybe not, so I would really really like a new winter coat. I'm so tempted by the lovely pink boyfriend coats I've been seeing everywhere but somehow I'm not really seeing a pink coat as an investment piece. I can just see myself finding it next autumn and wondering how on earth I'm going to update it. It's all about investment coats (unless you have a killer bank balance) and that's certainly my plan. I've been scouring the online shopping world to find some serious options for this year's winter warmer.
Burgandy Boucle Faux Fur Collar Boyfriend Coat, £54.99 New Look

Burgandy? Check. Fur? Check. Boyfriend fit? Check. This coat has it all! It looks so warm and I think would go with most of my wardrobe (if it didn't match, I'd make it!) I love the fur collar, although I think a removeable collar would be better. I also love the small details like the zips on the pockets and the boucle fabric. I'll definitely be looking out for this in-store.
Chocolate Brown Faux Fur ChevronCoat, £54.99 New Look
I love a good fur coat (faux of course) and after my tragic primark trip, I missed out on a leopard-print beauty at such a good price! I've been trying to find a replacement since and this is a strong contender. It looks super-cosy and I just love the chevron print on the fur as well as the colour.
Dark Grey Boyfriend Coat, £39.99 New Look
Perhaps the most versatile coat ever is this boyfriend-fit number. I can imagine it being really easy to wear and working with literally any outfit. At just £39.99 as well, I'm very tempted by this. The only thing is that I like to try coats on as they can look very different when worn. This is another I'll be keeping an eye out for in-store.
Snow Tiger Faux Fur Jacket, £65 next
Now I've seen this coat in my local next and its to-die-for gorgeous. It's much more subtle (in terms of colours and general appearance) in person and this photo that doesn't do the jacket justice at all. I also bravely tried it on and regretted it as I fell in love instantly. It looks soo expensive and is just a lovely fit. Thumbs up next!

I did actually intend on writing about more than 4 coats, and, in fact, thought I'd be spoilt for choice choosing them for this post but I was very wrong. I've been searching for hours and can't find any other coats I'd consider buying. Hopefully a high street hunt will be more successful (fingers crossed or it'll be a cold winter for me!) ...Watch this space...
Has anyone else bought their 2013 coat yet and what style have you gone for?

  1. I keep thinking I need to buy a new coat as soon as possible, none of my jackets are going to be warm enough if it goes really cold! I love the first jacket, might have to pop to New Look and try that on! :)
