TOPSHOP GLOW IN GLEAM*

I actually received this quite a while ago in a giveaway and to be honest, I haven't used it all that much since... until recently. If you're a regular reader of my blog, you'll already know that I'm a lover of all things matte. Matte nails, matte lips, and a matte complexion. Face shine is not my friend. Any slight sign of this mortal enemy and you'll find me whipping out the emergency face powder. And it's for this reason that I tend to stay well clear of highlighters. Don't get me wrong, I love the dewy look, especially when the weather is starting to warm up...a fresh, natural look is perfect for Spring/Summer but my skin finds it very hard impossible to strike this desirable 'dewy' balance between caked-on-matte and see-your-reflection-shine. Yuck. It's for this reason (and this reason only) which stops me going anywhere near a highlighter normally as i'm left with twice as much shine than I was to begin with...not cool.

Anyway, I decided to give this little pot a shot. My expectations weren't too high as I expected a similar shiny experience to usual but I was very pleasantly surprised. This formula seems much more 'solid' than those I have tried before, meaning that immediately the shine-factor is minimised. It's very creamy and is so easy to apply just with fingertips to the cheekbones and brow bones. After application, this gives much more of a shimmer than a shine and I think this is also party because of the colour. It's a bronzy gold which I can imagine being perfect for the summer months...and christmas parties...and everything in-between! It gives a lovely glow (just as the name suggests!) which is something I have been searching for so long! Five not-too-shiny gold stars to Topshop!
