LashFibres Brush-on false lashes

Tuesday, 26 August 2014

Me and false lashes do not get on. Fact. I've lost count of the number of times I've got halfway through a night out only to discover half a lash hanging off my eye. Not a good look. And that's if I even manage to get them to stay on at all. If I've made the decision to wear falsies, I have to prepare myself for at least 20 mins of fighting with the little pests to get them on. SO, it's quite clear why I was interested in brush-on false lashes. The look of falsies, without the drama? Is it too good to be true?

I'm not sure if you've heard about false lashes in a tube. I certainly hadn't before a couple of months ago. I've got to admit that even when i did, I was pretty reluctant to believe they would actually deliver the desired look. Of course, being the optimist that I am, I decided to give them a shot.

The idea is to put a coat of mascara, followed by a coat of the LashFibres and then a final coat of mascara. The beauty of this is that you can use any mascara you like. At the moment, I'm still using my they're real by benefit but I've also tried with different mascaras and get similar results. So.. does it work?

Well, as you can see from the before and after above, it does work. I wouldn't say it works to the extent of false lashes but it certainly thickens out my existing lashes which is something I'm always looking to do. It adds both volume and length and all without the drama of applying falsies. I only have two niggles. 1- the fibres are very dust-like which means they tend to end up everywhere. I've ended up with the fibres in my actual eye more than once which then makes everything very fuzzy. This disappears very quickly but isn't a great feeling. 2- it does tend to 'clump' the lashes together a bit. You can see in the image above that, although it has added volume, the lashes are more clumped together. This is fairly easily fixed with a eyelash comb though so not the end of the world.

Would I recommend these? The bottom line is yes I would. They don't quite give the same effect that falsies do, so they won't be a replacement for me, although for those days when you just want a bit more definition, they're ideal!

Have you tried any lash fibres?

  1. I tested something similar before, but I didn't like it. After some hours the fibers fell from my lashes and it wasn't so pretty so see. This mascara does the same??
