MAC Coral Bliss Lipstick

Tuesday, 19 August 2014

I’ve been meaning to post a review on this since I bought it in June. I fell headfirst into the temptations of duty free on my holiday this year, which resulted in the purchase of my first ever MAC lipstick. I spent ages checking out the different finishes and ended up with an armful of swatches before I made the final decision.

A coral was not a typical abi shade to go for, but I had found that my Revlon smoked peach was running low and I could do with a replacement. After recruiting the help of a sales assistant and comparing every possible match, we came to the conclusion coral bliss was the closest.

Since purchasing this little beauty, it’s become a staple in my collection. This summer, I’ve been loving coral hues on lips and cheeks and this has been no exception. The colour is suble enough to wear everyday, but bold enough to be noticed; the perfect midway point. It’s an on-trend coral shade in the finish creme sheen meaning it's got a slight, well, sheen.

The formula, to be honest, is not as long-lasting as I’d like for the price, but it certainly puts up a fight. It glides on the lips a dream and has the perfect moisture level meaning I don’t need any emergency lipbalm applications throughout the day. It feels very luxurious and quite thick while wearing and doesn't have that drying, cracking feeling cheaper lippys can. I'm intrigued to try one of the matte finishes to see how these sit.

So, the bottom line is that I’m hooked. I cant wait to start adding to my MAC collection, although I have no idea what shade to pick next..any recommendations?
