| OPI SHEER TINTS RRP £11.95 EACH |

I first spotted the OPI sheer tints a few months ago in my local beauty wholesalers. I saw them, I picked them up, I thought they were strange, I put them down again and carried on with my shopping. It wasn’t until I spotted a tutorial on a blog a few weeks ago that they popped back into my mind. After a bit of reseach on good old google images, I came to the conclusion that actually they were a stroke of genius.

I had intentions on buying the mini set featuring all 4 shades available but this was sold out by the time I returned, although luckily the full-sized bottles were reduced, meaning I picked up 3 of the colours from the collection. These were:

'Be Magentale With Me'
'I Can Teal You Like Me'
Don't Violet Me Down'

So…do they live up to my expectations? My first attempt at some kind of nail art effect thing was an ombre. This was pretty simple, I just coated the whole nail and kept adding layers slightly higher up each time. I was so impressed with the results and, although it didn’t last long as the polish ended up so thick at the end, it looked great while it lasted. The swatches above show the ombre effect and also what the polishes look like after just one layer. They're very sheer so you'd have to make sure nails are in tip-top condition before braving the single layer but it would totally be worth it.

I'm so glad I picked these up eventually. They're so versatile and I can't wait to try out some more experiments with them. Do you have any ideas?

  4. At first I thought these were pretty useless but I have seen some amazing tutorials using them in a watercolour effect and they look amazing! Might need to get the mini set to try them out!
