Laura Ashley Pink Petals Perfume

Tuesday, 2 September 2014

A month or two ago I found myself browsing the homeware in Laura Ashley. I was actually searching for a present for my mum's birthday at the time and managed to find a little mouse door stop which was ideal for the occasion. I thought I was safe and had actually managed to restrain myself from buying enough floral teacups, cake forks and lighting fixtures to fill the house I don't own. I was wrong. Those damn queue displays. I don't quite understand because there wasn't even a queue to wait in. I fell straight in the trap, I know, and I hold my hands up in defeat.

In my defence, my lack of willpower did result in a serious bargain. I love perfume but am often reluctant to spend my hard-earned cash on it purely for the reason it's so expensive. This little actually quite big bottle is no exception, retailing at £48. I know for sure that, had it still been at this price, I wouldn't have even looked twice, but the £16 sale sticker meant that I couldn't leave it behind.

I'm glad I had the moment of weakness as it's such a lovely scent. I'm very predictable when it comes to perfumes, my favourites being sweet, floral notes like paul smith's rose (my all-time fave!) and this is no exception. I will note that it's VERY floral. I guess this is kinda to be expected given the name but it's not for everyone as it's quite overpowering. Of course, the scent fades to leave a much more subtle hint, but I can imagine, for many, it fails at the initial shop spritz stage.

If you love a floral fragrance, this is definitely for you, if not, AVOID! Simple.
