Monthly Favourites #2

Sunday, 31 May 2015

It was a struggle to choose just a few favourite products this month. Recently I've found so many things that I'm seriously impressed with and want to rave about them all. I'm aware that it would mean this post going on for ever and ever so I've cut it down to just four of my favourites this month.

First up is a Rimmel lipstick- I've been a fan of the Kate Moss lipsticks for a few years now and have been building up a collection. The finish on these is ideal as it's moisturising but not glossy. I think they have a RRP of around £5.49 but you know how Boots is with their offers so i rarely pay full price. This shade is a lovely nude (#03) it's more on the orange/brown side than pink and I've found that it's just one of those go-to colours which goes with everything. It's super wearable in terms of shade and finish and also with the price. Well worth a try!
Stila smudge crayon in Antique, £14.50
Stila isn't a brand I'd actually tried before. It's not something I've come across whilst makeup shopping before so haven't had the opportunity. However, I was recently having a browse around TK Maxx when I spotted this eye crayon. I'm really into metallic bronzes and brown eye colours at the moment and loved this shade as soon as I swatched it. Stila describe it as a 'Three-in-one gel-based eye primer, shadow and liner' (and it also has a hidden sharpener in the base)- talk about multi-tasking! I love how easy it is just to chuck on, either by itself or layered with a darker crease colour. It's really pigmented and stays put as well- pretty much everything you could want in an eye product. The best bit was the price, however. As I picked it up in TK Maxx, of course it was cheaper than the £14.50 RRP- It was just £3.99.
Now, I don't want to give too much away on this one as I've got a post coming up within the next few weeks with all the details so I'll keep this short but obviously I was impressed as it's in my favourites. I'm always on the hunt for ways to brighten up my teeth and after seeing millions of celebs posting pictures on instagram and twitter, I had to give it a try. Keep your eyes peeled for my review coming up...
Last up is this scrub by Garnier. I've got a few favourite skincare products which I will loyally purchase again and again and they all seem to be garnier. Every product I try seems to deliver what it says on the tin and for such a reasonable high-street price as well. This scrub is no different- it cleanses my face and removes the dry skin, leaving it feeling squeaky clean and doesn't irritate at all. I find that some skin products leave me with more spots and breakouts than before which is kind of the opposite to what I'm trying to achieve- my skin has no issues with this at all and it gives a slightly deeper cleanse a few times a week.
