The Spring Beauty Edit

Sunday, 3 April 2016

Happy April everyone! Although the weather is still slightly confused what season we're in, spring is finally here which means longer days, wardrobe re-vamps and a rotation of makeup products. I've rounded up my key products for spring 2016.

nspa Micellar One-Step Cleanser
To be brutally honest, this particular product wouldn't be my micellar cleanser of choice. I picked it up a few weeks ago and whilst it removes the makeup from my skin, it irritates my eyes like hell so it's clearly not meant for me. I do like to use a lighter makeup remove in the warmer months though and try to avoid oil-based products which are going to multiply the shine issues- micellar cleansers are ideal for this. I love the Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water so will probably shift back to that fairly soon.

Bourjois Poudre De Riz De Java
Its only recently that I've been using this powder in my daily routine. It's designed to boost radiance and highlight the skin. Warning- this product does contain sparkles. As an oily-combo gal, sparkles on the face tend to be something I avoid like the plague. The sparkles are so subtle, however, it makes it totally useable as a highlighter or a setting powder (which is how I tend to use it) It has a gorgeous vintage scent and can we just take a moment for the packaging as well..

Seventeen Colour carnival in 037 Rose Pink
This £1.99 beauty has got to be my all-time favourite nail polish colour. It's a delicate dusky rose which just goes with everything. With nail colours I will either go really out-there or really subtle and this is just perfect for a natural look with a hint of colour. And did I mention it's £1.99??

New Look lipstick in Sweet Rose
I originally bought this as my MAC Angel ran out towards the end of the month and I needed a temporary replacement. It's a pretty good replacement to be fair and I've regularly been reaching for it. It's a lovely natural pink to give the classic 'your lips but better' look.

James Read Gradual Tan- Face
It comes with the territory- the weather gets warmer, the tan comes out. I'm constantly trying new tanning products for my body but I'm a little more hesitant when it comes to my face as they can often cause breakouts. I picked up this James Read tan from TK Maxx a while back and find it absolutely perfect for adding a little colour. It doesn't clog my pores and doesn't sit on drier areas either.

nspa Radiant Flash Serum
This is another new product discovered when a higher-end version bit the dust. I had been using the Stila one-step illuminate, and, although it doesn't quite match in terms of amazing-ness, it's still a pretty good dupe. I use this as a primer under foundation and as the name suggests, it adds radiance and gives a healthy glow without making skin oily or shiny.
